Over 10,000 acres of paddy fields submerged in Laymyethna

In Ayeyarwady Region, Laymyethna Township, over 10,000 acres of paddy fields have been submerged due to flooding caused by the collapse of the Ngwun dam, the Ayeyarwady Region government announced. It is said that 3.7 million acres of paddy fields are cultivated in Ayeyarwady Region, and the paddy fields in Laymyethna Township exceed 30,000 acres. The announcement also stated that the submerged area accounts for only 0.31 percent of the region's paddy fields, so there is no significant impact on paddy cultivation, and there is no need to worry as the region's rice sufficiency is over 473 percent.
