Narathiwat Province Raises Arson Reward to 50,000 Baht Amid Forest Fire Surge, Implements Stricter Penalties

Narathiwat Province in Thailand's deep south has announced a significant increase in the reward for information leading to the arrest of forest arsonists, from 10,000 to 50,000 baht, as part of escalated measures against rampant forest fires. The governor declared a complete ban on all types of burning from May 1 to 31, with violators facing severe penalties of up to 2 million baht in fines or 20 years imprisonment.
