Designer Thoa Tran Showcases '12 Seasons of Flowers in Hanoi' Through Exquisite Ao Dai Designs

Vietnamese designer Thoa Tran officially unveiled her latest collection, "12 Seasons of Flowers in Hanoi," featuring the traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai, at the Global Fashion Week All Stars 2026 event on July 31st. The collection comprises 12 exquisite Ao Dai designs, each symbolizing a specific month and the characteristic flowers and scenes of Hanoi throughout the year. Inspired by the melody of the song "12 Seasons of Flowers in Hanoi," Tran meticulously recreated the distinct charm of each season in the capital city. Her work aims to capture the cultural richness of Hanoi and her profound affection for the city where she has nurtured her artistic journey for nearly two decades. Tran, who has dedicated close to 20 years to designing Ao Dai, is known for her commitment to reinterpreting Vietnamese traditional culture with a contemporary flair. She previously received recognition from the Vietnam Record Organization for her collection "Returning to the Roots," inspired by Hung King worship and the Hung King Festival. Her aspiration is to transform the Ao Dai into a "living heritage," preserving its traditional essence while infusing it with modern vitality. This international debut at the Global Fashion Week All Stars 2026 further extends her mission to promote Vietnamese culture worldwide. Through each elaborately embroidered Ao Dai, Tran not only celebrates Hanoi, a capital with a thousand-year history, but also disseminates pride in national identity, bringing Vietnam's image closer to international friends. The collection's presentation featured models embodying Vietnamese beauty, who enhanced the allure of the designs with their elegant presence.
