79,000 Calabarzon Families Undergoing Evaluation for Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps)

LUCENA CITY — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the Calabarzon region is evaluating more than 79,000 families in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon provinces as potential beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). These families were identified as poor based on the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS). The 4Ps is one of the Philippine government's flagship poverty reduction and social protection programs, aiming to improve education, health, and nutrition through cash grants. The evaluation aims to update the program's beneficiary list according to the latest poverty data, ensuring that assistance reaches families in need. The CBMS is utilized as a crucial tool to assess the socioeconomic conditions within each community.
