Vietnam's Top Leader Urges Vietnamese Intellectuals in Russia to Boost Sci-Tech Cooperation

Vietnamese President and General Secretary To Lam urged Vietnamese scientists, experts, and intellectuals in Russia to be pioneers in fostering knowledge, science, technology, and new cooperation initiatives. He made these remarks during a meeting with embassy officials and the Vietnamese community in Russia on September 7. President Lam affirmed that the Party and State consistently prioritize caring for and better protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the overseas Vietnamese community, while creating favorable conditions for them to strengthen their ties with their homeland. He stated that in the coming time, the Party and State will continue to perfect synchronous, transparent, and breakthrough institutions, mechanisms, and policies to connect, attract, and effectively utilize the resources of overseas Vietnamese, especially intellectuals, experts, entrepreneurs, scientists, and the younger generation. He expressed his hope that Vietnamese scientists and experts in Russia will continue to promote their spirit of creativity, resilience, and responsibility, acting as vanguards in connecting knowledge, science, technology, and new cooperation initiatives. Vietnamese entrepreneurs in Russia are expected to be the core force driving economic, trade, and investment cooperation, connecting businesses of both countries, and contributing to the expansion of new cooperation areas aligned with the potential and development needs of both Vietnam and Russia. Do Xuan Hoang, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Russia, stated that the community recognizes that each of their actions contributes to shaping the image of the country and people of Vietnam. Therefore, Vietnamese individuals in Russia encourage each other to respect the local culture, customs, and social life, contributing to the host country. Simultaneously, they strive to preserve the Vietnamese language, culture, and traditions, building a united yet open community, one that integrates without assimilation, and achieves success alongside responsibility. On the same day, President Lam met with Gennady Zyuganov, Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. Lam mentioned Vietnam's efforts to complete the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Museum by 2030, in anticipation of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He also expressed hope for continued Russian support in accessing archival materials related to President Ho Chi Minh, connections with the international communist movement, Soviet and socialist bloc support during Vietnam's resistance against the US, and Vietnam-Russia cooperation from 1991 to the present, which are currently held in Russian museums and archives.
