Cambodian Red Cross Provides New Home and Humanitarian Aid to Vulnerable Families in Takeo
The Cambodian Red Cross's Takeo provincial branch on July 9th handed over a newly constructed home to a woman whose house was destroyed by strong winds in Bati district. Additionally, humanitarian aid, including food and essential supplies, was distributed to 13 impoverished and elderly families, underscoring the Red Cross's commitment to assisting citizens in need.
The Cambodian Red Cross's Takeo provincial branch on July 9th handed over a newly constructed home to Ms. Say Thouch, a vulnerable woman whose house was previously destroyed by strong winds in Rung village, Krang Lear commune, Bati district. In addition, humanitarian aid was distributed to 13 impoverished and elderly families in the district. During the handover ceremony, Mr. Vey Somnang, Chairman of the Cambodian Red Cross Takeo Provincial Branch, conveyed greetings and well wishes from Dr. Jay Vandeat, Honorary Chairman of the branch, and particularly from Madam Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross. Madam Bun Rany consistently demonstrates deep concern for the well-being of affected and vulnerable citizens across all locations, irrespective of political affiliation, race, or religion, emphasizing that the Cambodian Red Cross is always present wherever there is hardship. The newly built house for the affected family is constructed with a steel frame, zinc roofing, and zinc walls, measuring 4 meters in width and 6 meters in length, with an additional 2.5-meter veranda at the front and back. The humanitarian aid provided to the 13 impoverished and elderly families includes 25 kilograms of rice, one box of instant noodles, one bunch of canned fish, one liter of cooking oil, three bottles of fish sauce, three bottles of soy sauce, one large packet of snacks, one mosquito net, one blanket, one sarong, one krama (traditional scarf), one mat, and a sum of money for each family.
