Waso Shwe Kyae Sangha offered at Shwedagon Pagoda

A grand ceremony was held on the morning of July 29, the full moon day of Waso, to offer the "Waso Shwe Kyae Sangha" at the Shwedagon Pagoda. The ceremony was attended by the Chief Minister of Yangon Region, U Aung Naing Thu, the Minister for Security and Border Affairs of Yangon Region, Colonel Win Tint, ministers of the regional government, heads of departments, members of the Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees, and invited guests. At the ceremony, the Chief Minister of Yangon Region, U Aung Naing Thu, regional ministers, board of trustees members, religious associations, and donors carried the "Waso Shwe Kyae Sangha" from the ancient Buddha statue hall and circumambulated the pagoda platform clockwise in homage. Following this, the Chief Minister and regional ministers offered the "Waso Shwe Kyae Sangha" to the ruby-eyed Buddha on the upper terrace of the pagoda platform, while board of trustees members, religious associations, and donors offered the "Waso Shwe Kyae Sangha" to the Buddhas Kakusandha, Konagamana, Kassapa, and Gotama at the four entrances of the meditation hall. As the full moon day of Waso (Dhamma Cakka Day) is a special day for Buddhists, it was observed that a large number of monks, nuns, and the general public visited and paid homage to pagodas and temples, including the Shwedagon Pagoda.
