Military Region 9 Pays Tribute to President Ho Chi Minh on Vietnam's National Day

On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Military Region 9 (Quân khu 9) organized a joint ceremony on September 2nd to pay tribute at the Victory Monument, the Monument for Heroes and Martyrs, and the Ho Chi Minh President Monument. This memorial event serves as an opportunity to reaffirm the historical achievements since the nation's founding and the reverence for its leader within Vietnam's one-party system led by the Communist Party of Vietnam. President Ho Chi Minh, as the founding father of Vietnam, remains a national symbol, and his teachings and legacy serve as a guide for political and social activities. Military Region 9 is the military organization responsible for the Mekong Delta region, playing a crucial role in its defense and stability. This ceremony is believed to aim at boosting military morale and promoting national unity. On the same day, a walking program titled “Moving Forward with Vietnam” was held in Can Tho city, with over 5,600 participants, and the 10th Can Tho City Sports Festival commenced, indicating efforts to revitalize the local community. These events foster a national celebratory mood for the founding anniversary and reflect the government's commitment to economic development and social welfare improvement.
