Vietnam Appreciates UN Alliance of Civilizations Efforts, Emphasizes International Cooperation

On the afternoon of September 22 (local time) in New York, within the framework of the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung held a meeting with Mr. Miguel Ángel Moratinos, UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC). During the meeting, Minister Trung highly appreciated the efforts of UNAOC in promoting dialogue and mutual understanding among civilizations. Vietnam places importance on cooperation with countries possessing diverse cultures and values and reiterated its commitment to contributing to strengthening solidarity within the international community through the multilateral framework of the United Nations. As a one-party state, Vietnam is pursuing a foreign policy that balances economic growth with international cooperation. In particular, aiming for regional stability and prosperity, it plays a central role in ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and deepens its cooperation with international organizations, including the UN. While facing territorial issues with China, Vietnam maintains strong economic ties and seeks to build a balanced relationship. This meeting clearly demonstrates Vietnam's stance as a responsible member of the international community contributing to peace and sustainable development, and it is positioned as part of the country's diplomatic strategy that emphasizes international cooperation.
