Vietnamese President to Visit Australia and New Zealand to Strengthen Ties

It has been revealed that Vietnamese President and Communist Party General Secretary Tô Lâm is scheduled to make official visits to Australia and New Zealand. The Australian government and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese have issued official messages welcoming the state visit of General Secretary and President Tô Lâm to their country. This visit is considered a significant step toward making the relationship between Vietnam and Australia "deeper, more substantial, and more effective." It is anticipated that both nations will aim for further strengthened cooperation in areas such as economy, security, and regional collaboration. Vietnam, while continuing its economic growth in recent years, is also increasing its influence in the region, and strengthening ties with Australia can be seen as part of Vietnam's diplomatic strategy in the Indo-Pacific. Furthermore, General Secretary and President Tô Lâm also held a meeting with the President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand. This is part of Vietnam's diplomatic activities within the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region, indicating the importance of maintaining and strengthening relations with neighboring countries. Under its one-party system, Vietnam is promoting policies prioritizing economic growth and aims to maximize national interests by balancing relations with major countries in its foreign policy.
