Phnom Penh Police Bust Massage Parlors Offering Sex Services, Rescue 7, Arrest 2 Owners

Phnom Penh police have conducted a crackdown operation on two massage parlors allegedly operating with hidden sex services, rescuing seven victims and arresting two owners. The operation took place on the night of September 10th in Por Senchey district. It was carried out by the Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection Office of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, in cooperation with local authorities. This was under the leadership of Lieutenant General Chuon Narith, Deputy Commissioner General and Commissioner of Phnom Penh Municipal Police; Major General Chan Kithykhom, Deputy Commissioner (in charge of Anti-Human Trafficking, Juvenile Protection, and Gender affairs); and Colonel Cheng Sarath, Deputy Commissioner. The first location, an unnamed massage shop located at House No. 73C, Concrete Road, Tangoun 1 Village, Kakap I Sangkat, Por Senchey District, yielded six women (including three minors) and some evidence. The second location, an unnamed massage shop at House No. 86C, Concrete Road, Tangoun 1 Village, Kakap I Sangkat, Por Senchey District, yielded three individuals (including one minor) and some evidence. Currently, the specialized office is building a case file against the two arrested owners and will send them to court for legal proceedings. The seven rescued female victims (including four minors) have been handed over to the Phnom Penh Municipal Department of Social Affairs for further procedures.
