Vietnam Launches National Data Sharing Platform for Science, Technology, and Innovation

Vietnam has put into operation its national information system for science and technology and innovation, establishing a nationwide data sharing platform. This system is designed to serve as an information infrastructure for state management, scientific research, technological development, and the promotion of innovation across the country. The initiative aims to build a modern scientific data ecosystem and is linked to upcoming activities such as an exhibition on "Scientific and Technical Data in the Era of Sustainable Development," fostering scientific thinking among students using NASA's open data, and developing modern marine management models based on science, technology, and data. Under Vietnam's one-party system, state-led investment in science and technology and the development of information infrastructure to support it are emphasized. As the economy continues to grow, industrial upgrading through innovation is considered an essential element for maintaining and enhancing national competitiveness, especially amidst complex relations with China. This data sharing platform is expected to contribute to accelerating innovation and strengthening international competitiveness by making it easier for domestic research institutions and businesses to access the latest technological information and research findings.
