Myanmar's fruit exports earn over 220 million dollars

According to statistics from the Myanmar Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association (AMFM), Myanmar's fruit exports to the international market generated export earnings of 220.53 million US dollars in the 2025-2026 fiscal year. In the previous fiscal year, the plan was to export nearly 800,000 tons of fruits to the international market, aiming for export earnings of 344.63 million US dollars. However, actual exports amounted to only nearly 400,000 tons, resulting in export earnings of 220.53 million US dollars. It is reported that fruit exports in the 2025-2026 fiscal year achieved 63.98% of the target. Products such as tissue bananas, mangoes, watermelons, muskmelons, yams, ginger, papayas, coconuts, tamarinds, avocados, and turmeric are being exported abroad, with yams and coconuts being among the top categories in terms of both revenue and export volume. To ensure a good outlook for Myanmar's fruit market, the Myanmar Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association (AMFM) urges farmers and MSME entrepreneurs to carefully select and focus on the fresh fruit export sector, and to process and export them as value-added products.
