Cambodia's Ministry of Water Resources Reviews Progress, Sets Future Direction for Commune Development Policy
Cambodia's Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology held its fourth meeting to assess the implementation of its 2022-2027 commune development policy and chart the course for 2027-2032. The ministry aims to contribute to poverty reduction, food security, and natural disaster prevention through water resource management and meteorological forecasting.
On the morning of August 4, 2026, Bun Hean, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, led the fourth meeting to assess the results of the implementation of the Commune-Sangkat Development Policy for 2022-2027 and to set the direction for the Commune-Sangkat Development Policy for 2027-2032 in the field of water resources and meteorology. The meeting was held in the Lux meeting room of the Ministry's headquarters. This meeting is important for providing input from all relevant technical departments regarding the core work and strategic plan of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, to discuss the draft policy and support the Commune-Sangkat development for 2027-2032 to be more effective and practically implementable. It should be noted that the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has played an active role in managing and developing water resources to ensure sufficient water supply for all sectors and to support the Commune-Sangkat Development Policy for 2022-2027 in effectively reducing poverty, ensuring food security, and preventing natural disasters.
