West Java Police Prioritize Community Engagement Through Bhabinkamtibmas

West Java Police Chief Inspector General Pipit Rismanto has identified the strengthening of Bhabinkamtibmas, the community police officers who serve as the frontline of police services, as a key initial direction of his leadership. This policy was conveyed during an assembly of Bhabinkamtibmas at the West Java Regional Police Headquarters in Bandung, marking one of his first engagements with community elements since assuming office. Inspector General Rismanto highlighted the dynamic social landscape of West Java, noting its significance as a buffer region for the capital, a center for education, an industrial hub, an investment destination, and a popular tourist area. Consequently, he stressed the importance of empowering Bhabinkamtibmas, who are in direct contact with communities at the village and sub-district levels. He also introduced the "Together with Special Care for West Java" program, outlining nine key work directions. This program operates under four guiding principles: adaptive, responsive, collaborative, and solutive. The Police Chief appealed for support from a wide spectrum of society, including religious leaders, customary figures, youth representatives, local governments, the TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces), community organizations, and political entities. Former West Java Police Chief Inspector General Pol (Ret.) Anton Charliyan expressed his readiness to support and champion the new Police Chief's initiatives. As the Chairman of the West Java Sunda Custom Assembly, he also urged all societal elements to actively contribute to the program's success.
