Cambodia to Host "Green Season Tourism Event 2026" in Stung Treng

The Ministry of Tourism, in cooperation with the Stung Treng Provincial Administration, will organize the “Green Season Tourism Event 2026” from Aug. 8 to 9 at Techo Thipadei Park in front of Stung Treng Provincial Hall. The event will be held under the presidency of H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and H.E. Sor Soputra, Governor of Stung Treng province, as part of efforts to promote Cambodia’s tourism potential and attract more visitors to the northeastern region during the Green Season from May to October. According to the Ministry of Tourism, the event aims to showcase the tourism potential of Cambodia’s northeastern region, contribute to the local economy and tourism communities by creating employment and direct income opportunities, and support the “Visit Cambodia During Green Season 2026” campaign. The initiative is also intended to contribute to the strategic direction of the Royal Government and the Ministry of Tourism to attract and distribute domestic and international tourists throughout the year and across different seasons. A range of activities has been prepared for the two-day event, including an exhibition featuring food, community products, local dishes from the northeastern region, wild fruits, seasonal products and community-processed goods. The programme will also feature a discussion forum on “Ecotourism Potential in the Northeastern Region during Green Season 2026,” as well as a tourism-themed public sports programme under the theme “Run for the Mekong Dolphins: Connecting Tourism during the Green Season.” The event will conclude with cultural performances and a concert.
