Thailand to Offer Free Access to Sections of M6 Motorway on Weekends

Thailand's Ministry of Transport has confirmed that sections of the M6 Motorway, specifically the Bang Pa-in to Pak Chong route, will be open for free access every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, starting August 21, 2026. This initiative is designed to alleviate weekend traffic congestion and enhance economic activity in the surrounding regions by improving accessibility. The free access period will be from 5:00 PM on Fridays to 12:00 PM on Sundays each week. Users will be able to enter and exit at designated interchanges, with further details to be announced in due course. The M6 Motorway is a crucial infrastructure link connecting Bangkok with the northeastern provinces, and its traffic volume significantly increases during weekends and public holidays.
