Vietnam Accelerates Administrative Procedure Streamlining Through Digital Data

Vietnam is focusing on developing a digital government and digital economy to improve its investment environment and national competitiveness. By accelerating the digitalization and simplification of administrative procedures, the country is strongly pushing for a transition to a modern governance model centered on citizens and businesses. This initiative is expected to play a crucial role in conjunction with administrative reforms, especially in pursuit of double-digit growth from 2026 to 2030. Specifically, significant reforms in customs administrative procedures are highlighted in a video, and in the social insurance sector, 25 new procedures have been introduced, along with amendments and abolitions of existing ones. Furthermore, new regulations regarding the linkage of two administrative procedures for social insurance and health insurance will take effect from September 1st. Proposals have also been made to reduce and simplify administrative procedures to facilitate real estate investment and business activities. Under Vietnam's one-party system, the government's promotion of economic growth strategies is a top priority in national governance. Digitalization is also emphasized from the perspectives of improving efficiency, enhancing transparency, and preventing corruption. Especially amidst strong economic ties with China, improving the domestic business environment and attracting more foreign investment are essential for sustaining economic growth. The acceleration of administrative procedures through digitalization can be seen as a concrete step towards achieving these goals.
