An Giang province in Southern Vietnam has inaugurated a major event aimed at promoting regional culture and economy. On the evening of July 31, the opening ceremony for the 'Southern Vietnamese Traditional Cake Festival and An Giang Tourism, Trade Promotion, and OCOP Product Fair III (2026)' took place at the Golden City urban area in Long Xuyen city, An Giang province. The event is organized by the An Giang Provincial Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion, in coordination with the Long Xuyen People's Committee, Chuong Vang Trade Promotion Co., Ltd., and various departments, localities, and businesses. The festival, which runs until August 8, features approximately 300 booths, bringing together artisans, production facilities, businesses, and numerous localities from both within and outside the province. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Anh, Deputy Director of the An Giang Provincial Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion, expressed the organizing committee's hope that the festival would create a space for artisans to introduce and demonstrate traditional Southern Vietnamese cakes. Through this event, the organizers aim to promote OCOP (One Commune One Product) items and local specialties, facilitate business exchanges and market expansion, and contribute to the tourism and trade development of the province. It also serves as an opportunity for residents and tourists to experience the rich culinary culture and learn about the traditional values preserved in An Giang. The festival program includes a variety of activities such as demonstration and introduction areas for traditional cakes, tourism and OCOP product promotion zones, a regional specialty food court, a trade fair, nightly art performances, and experiential activities for visitors. The organizing committee is confident that these activities will create a vibrant atmosphere and offer memorable experiences for all attendees. The trade promotion and OCOP product exhibition area showcases numerous businesses, cooperatives, and production facilities from An Giang, as well as participants from Vĩnh Long, Đồng Tháp, Tây Ninh, Đắk Lắk, Nghệ An, Quảng Ngãi, Ho Chi Minh City, Cần Thơ, Cà Mau, Thái Nguyên, and Lâm Đồng. They are presenting OCOP products, regional specialties, and outstanding rural industrial products, creating opportunities for trade connections and market expansion. Source: Nhan Dan
