US Secretary of State Rubio Visits Philippines to Bolster ASEAN Ties

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in the Philippines today for a five-day visit to attend a series of meetings, including the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting in Manila. The visit aims to advance the US strategy for a "free and open" Indo-Pacific, ensuring safety, security, and prosperity for the region and the American people. Secretary Rubio will participate in the ASEAN Plus Three Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, the East Asia Summit (EAS) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, and the ARF Ministerial Meeting. Through these gatherings, he intends to demonstrate the tangible results of the US-ASEAN partnership and further deepen the comprehensive relationship with the Philippines.
