Cambodia Prioritizes Rural Development and Citizen Welfare Amidst Economic Growth

Say Kim Lom, Governor of Stung Trang District, stated that the government and authorities are continuously developing and paying attention to the livelihoods of local citizens "like the falling rain." This was revealed on September 4, 2026, during a meeting in Bos Ta Ek Village, Tra Korng Commune, Stung Trang District, Kampong Thom Province, where food aid from Mr. Phang Vey, Head of the Working Group for Local Base in Tra Korng Commune, was distributed to at-risk families. The District Governor emphasized that these donations reflect the deep concern for the well-being and daily lives of local residents. Under the guidance of His Excellency Thau Chettha, Head of the Working Group for Stung Trang District, the district is being developed "like the falling rain," with infrastructure and irrigation systems being established in every village and commune. The solar panels installed for nighttime lighting during this occasion serve as a testament to these efforts. Concurrently, the Governor urged village/commune authorities and citizens to pay close attention to the issue of dengue fever, which is currently spreading rapidly in the area, especially among children. He called for thorough mosquito eradication measures and instructed that if children develop a high fever, they should be promptly rushed to the health center or provincial hospital. Furthermore, the Governor advised citizens to register for the upcoming election in October, ensuring that everyone is registered and their names are confirmed on the voter list. The donations provided to the citizens on this occasion were from Mr. Phang Vey, Head of the Working Group for Local Base in Tra Korng Commune, and the 23 solar panels installed were a donation from His Excellency Thau Chettha, Head of the Working Group for Stung Trang District, Kampong Thom Province.
