Indonesian Rupiah Rebounds Against US Dollar, BI Cites Intervention and Policy Support

The Indonesian Rupiah has shown signs of recovery against the US Dollar, reaching Rp 17,730 per USD as of June 17, 2026. Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry Warjiyo attributed this strengthening to the central bank's market interventions and tighter monetary policies, amidst global uncertainty and high corporate demand for foreign currency.
