Nghe An Province Welcomes Nearly 270,000 Visitors During National Day Holiday

Nghe An Province, located in central Vietnam, welcomed approximately 270,000 visitors during the 5-day National Day holiday period, from August 29 to September 2, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. Of these, 88,000 visitors included overnight stays. National Day on September 2 is a significant public holiday in Vietnam, prompting many citizens to undertake domestic travel. During the same period, traffic enforcement in Nghe An resulted in over 2,000 cases of violations being penalized. Memorial events were also held to commemorate the death anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, who was born in the province, drawing considerable public participation. Under Vietnam's one-party system, National Day serves as a crucial occasion to strengthen national unity and foster patriotism. As Vietnam continues its economic growth, the tourism sector plays a vital role in foreign exchange earnings and contributes to the revitalization of local economies.
