It has been learned from the Ministry of Health that the Cardiac Surgery Department of Mandalay General Hospital and professors from the Shanghai University Medical School have jointly performed cardiac surgery. A team of five members, led by Dr. Feng Wan (Chairman and Professor, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery Center) from Yida Hospital, Shanghai University Medical School, People's Republic of China, collaborated with the Cardiac Surgery Department of Mandalay General Hospital to perform off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery on six patients with coronary artery blockages from August 24th to 27th. These patients are currently receiving necessary treatment at the Cardiac Surgery Department of Mandalay General Hospital and their health condition is improving. Professor Dr. Feng Wan has been performing cardiac surgery in collaboration with cardiac surgery departments in public hospitals in Myanmar since 2008, and plans to visit Myanmar again in 2027 to conduct heart surgeries and train postgraduate students in cardiac surgery. The Cardiac Surgery Department of Mandalay General Hospital regularly performs surgical treatments for congenital heart diseases, heart valve diseases, coronary artery blockages, and aortic dissection, having performed 15 major surgeries in 2025 and 40 major surgeries by August 2026.
