20 petrol stations penalized for not adhering to regulations

It has been learned from the Ministry of Electricity and Energy that 20 petrol stations have been penalized for not selling fuel in accordance with the stipulated instructions when scanning QR codes for vehicles. It has already been notified in advance to the relevant sales outlets, business owners, and companies that petrol stations must scan and sell only to vehicles that genuinely come to purchase fuel, and that if any fraudulent means are found to be employed to increase sales via QR code/barcode, action will be taken in accordance with the Petroleum and Petroleum Products Law. Despite such prior notification, the Control Center discovered through inspections that some sales outlets were not performing the original QR code scans but were instead entering vehicle numbers to facilitate the acquisition of more fuel purchase orders (PO). Consequently, the 20 sales outlets that committed offenses have had their fuel purchase orders (PO) reduced, been fined, and issued severe warnings. The Ministry of Electricity and Energy has notified that if similar incidents are found again at petrol stations, the petrol station will be permanently closed and action will be taken in accordance with the Petroleum and Petroleum Products Law. Therefore, it is urged that sales outlets supervise and manage their own operations. Furthermore, it is understood that the Online Monitoring Center is allocating fuel purchase orders (PO) to petrol stations based on the volume sold after scanning the vehicles' QR codes/barcodes, granting additional approvals upon review if further need arises, and monitoring the sales status.
