Cambodia: High School Mock Exam Aims to Enhance Student Competency and Ensure Fairness

In Thma Koul District, Banteay Meanchey Province, a mock examination for the high school graduation certificate (Bak Doup) has been conducted, with District Governor Ratt Dassinong highlighting its significance. He stated that the mock exam serves as a crucial "mirror" for students to objectively assess their strengths and weaknesses, which is essential for success in the actual examination. On the morning of July 15, 2026, Governor Ratt Dassinong presided over the opening ceremony of the Grade 12 mock examination at the Thma Koul High School examination center. He was joined by the district deputy governor, school administrators, teachers, and numerous candidates. The governor conveyed greetings from the provincial leadership and advised the students that this mock exam is an excellent opportunity to measure their true abilities. He encouraged them to have confidence and utilize their learned knowledge to the fullest. Governor Dassinong strongly emphasized the importance of discipline and ethics during the examination, urging candidates to strictly adhere to internal regulations. To foster a culture of honesty and self-reliance, he strictly prohibited the entry of electronic devices or any documents into the examination rooms. He also paid close attention to the candidates' health, advising them to focus on proper nutrition, adequate rest, and maintaining a calm state of mind, warning that excessive pressure or fear could negatively impact their problem-solving skills. The district governor further added that human resources with genuine knowledge are the most crucial foundation for the development of their hometown. "A clean city, beautiful resort, good service, and good hospitality all start with us, and human resources with genuine knowledge are the driving force for the development of our villages," he said.
