Canon Vietnam Hosts "Union Meal" for Nearly 24,000 Employees

Canon Vietnam, a major manufacturing player, hosted a large-scale "Union Meal" on July 22, bringing together approximately 23,700 employees across its three key factories: Thang Long, Que Vo, and Tien Son. The initiative was organized by the company's trade union in coordination with management, as part of activities commemorating the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour. The aim is to foster solidarity among employees, build a humane working environment, and boost motivation for workers to continue contributing to Canon Vietnam's sustainable development. Nguyen Anh Ngoc, Chairman of the Canon Vietnam Trade Union, stated, "This intimate meal is an opportunity for the leadership and the Trade Union to express sincere gratitude to all employees who have accompanied Canon Vietnam's development over time. It also aims to spread the spirit of sharing and connection, building an increasingly humane and sustainable working environment." He further emphasized the message, "The health of employees is a valuable asset of the enterprise," expressing the hope that delicious meals and practical care will provide employees with more health, joy, and motivation to contribute. Nguyen Dinh Thang, Chairman of the Hanoi High-Tech and Industrial Parks Trade Union, who attended the event at the Thang Long factory, highly appreciated the efforts of the Canon Vietnam Trade Union in continuously innovating activities to care for its members and workers. He noted that practical activities like the "Union Meal" not only contribute to improving the quality of life for workers but also enhance the bond between employees and the enterprise, building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations. The union meal featured a diverse menu of 18 dishes, meticulously prepared to cater to the varied tastes of the employees. The atmosphere was described as lively and friendly, with company leaders, trade union officials, and workers sharing tables and conversations. Additionally, the Canon Vietnam Trade Union presented 60 gifts to employees facing particular hardship. While modest in material value, these gifts represent the sharing and encouragement from the trade union and the company, intended to provide motivation for employees to overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives, and work with peace of mind. Doan Thi Minh Thoa, an employee who received a gift and participated in the meal, shared her deep emotion at being able to sit and dine with leaders and colleagues in a warm, friendly atmosphere, feeling respected, heard, and an important part of the enterprise. Futaki Teruhiro, Director of the Human Resources Department, affirmed, "The company always considers people its most valuable asset and will continue to closely coordinate with the trade union in improving the quality of meals, enhancing the working environment, and better caring for the material and spiritual well-being of our employees."
