Kampong Chhnang Provincial Council Holds 27th Ordinary Meeting, Emphasizes Security and Online Scam Prevention

Kampong Chhnang Province convened its 27th ordinary meeting of the 4th mandate on September 1, 2026. Siv Run, Chairman of the Provincial Council, officially opened the meeting, which facilitated crucial discussions. The event was attended by Chim Vutha, Deputy Governor of Kampong Chhnang Province, provincial council members, the provincial hall secretary general, leaders from relevant ministries and institutions, as well as representatives from civil society organizations. Chim Vutha, the Deputy Governor, outlined the meeting's agenda, which included reviewing the minutes of the previous ordinary meeting, summarizing the work results for August 2026, reviewing and approving the draft distribution table for officer incentives for July 2026, addressing online scam prevention, and discussing other miscellaneous matters. Chairman Siv Run urged local authorities in municipalities and districts, along with all three branches of the armed forces and relevant ministries, to continue their efforts in maintaining security and order within their respective areas. He particularly emphasized the need to intensify efforts in cracking down on and preventing crimes occurring in the locality, especially drug abuse and all forms of gambling. He added that strengthening security and order in public places and communities is directly linked to the safety of citizens' daily lives. Furthermore, the Provincial Council Chairman instructed ministries, agencies, municipal and district administrations, and other relevant parties to collaborate and ensure the cleanliness of public spaces and their work environments. He also stressed the importance of continuously monitoring water levels to prevent flooding due to rain or rising river water, which could lead to the displacement of residents to safe grounds. He called for enhanced dissemination of information to the public on preventing and combating the spread of dengue fever and for strengthening measures to prevent and suppress all types of crimes.
