Kracheh City Deploys Trash Bins, Urges Citizen Participation in Environmental Cleanup

Kracheh City, located in northeastern Cambodia, is proceeding with the deployment of trash bins in public spaces and is requesting cooperation in environmental beautification from citizens and vendors operating along the river and in commercial areas. This initiative aims to improve the city's landscape and hygiene, thereby attracting more tourists. The city administration is paying particular attention to waste issues in public areas such as riverbanks and assembly points, guiding food vendors and tourists to properly dispose of their waste in designated trash bins after consumption. Indiscriminate littering is a factor that damages the landscape and hygiene and disrupts urban order, prompting the city to strengthen awareness campaigns to prevent it. According to Kracheh City authorities, activities for environmental beautification and hygiene maintenance are conducted four times a month. Guidance is also provided to street vendors and stall owners to encourage their consideration for the environment and their contribution to the city's beautification. This endeavor aims to enhance Kracheh City's appeal and attract a larger number of tourists. Kracheh City received the 'Two-Flower Dara Rumduol' award in the National 'Beautiful City' competition held in 2023. This competition saw the participation of 17 cities and districts, with 14 cities and 3 districts receiving accolades. Kracheh City's achievement in such an evaluation serves as evidence of its commitment to environmental improvement.
