Fleet carrying arms and ammunition arrives in Monywa, Sagaing Region; Tatmadaw sets fire to Thitsay Village in Wetlet, fires heavy weapons indiscriminately in Myitnge, Mandalay Region

Yangon, July 4 A fleet of warships carrying arms and ammunition has arrived in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region, according to a statement from the Chin Dwin River Village Resistance Committee and local residents' testimonies. On this day (July 4), a total of 26 first-batch and 16 second-batch flat motorboats and warships carrying arms and ammunition, which sailed up the Chin Dwin River, arrived at Alon Min Daung Jetty in Monywa Township. "Some residents fled when the warships entered. There were quite a number of vessels. We heard they were carrying arms and ammunition. They are currently docked at Alon Min Daung Jetty," a local resident said. Furthermore, it has been revealed through statements from the Wetlet Information Network and local residents' testimonies that the military is setting fire to and destroying villages and indiscriminately firing heavy weapons in Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region, and Myitnge Township, Mandalay Region. It is known that soldiers currently in Thitsay Village, eastern Wetlet Township, are continuing to set fire to and destroy more civilian houses within the village as of around 6 PM on July 4. Currently, the villagers have fled the entire village, and the military had previously set fire to and destroyed Thitsay Village in March. Similarly, it is known that residents are fleeing due to the military, which is stationed in Thafandaw Village in the southwestern part of Myitnge Township, Mandalay Region, firing heavy weapons indiscriminately near the village as of around 8 PM on July 4. "The military has been setting fire to Thitsay Village in Wetlet Township since this evening. The extent of house damage is not yet known. Residents are also fleeing. Moreover, residents are fleeing in Myitnge Township because the military is firing heavy weapons," a local resident said. It is known that on June 17, a military aircraft from the Taungoo Air Force Base carried out two airstrikes on Nyaung Pin Gyi Taw Village in Wetlet Township, resulting in the deaths of four people, including a pregnant woman, a child, and a woman.
