MMDA Clears Road Obstructions: 41 Motorists Fined, 10 Vehicles Towed

The Metropolitan Development Authority (MMDA) conducted extensive road clearing operations across Metro Manila on Monday, July 20. The MMDA's Special Operations Group-Task Force for Road Clearing focused its operations in complaint-prone areas within Quezon City and Manila. Specifically, the clearing efforts were carried out along Biak na Bato Street, Mayon Street, Antipolo Street, Mindanao Street, and Silencio Street. As a result of these operations, 10 vehicles were towed to the MMDA impounding facility in Tumana, Marikina City, for traffic violations. Additionally, 41 motorists were issued traffic violation tickets, apprehended through the agency's no-contact apprehension policy. This follows a similar crackdown last Friday, July 17, where the MMDA's Swift Action Group targeted illegal parking in 12 separate locations across the metropolis. During that operation, 41 individuals were apprehended via the no-contact policy, with another 20 being physically apprehended. One vehicle was also impounded. The areas covered by last week's operation included EDSA southbound, Sales Road, Andrews Avenue, NAIA Road, NAIA Terminals 1, 2, and 3, Aurora Boulevard (Tramo), Domestic Road, EDSA-Malibay, Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange, Macapagal Boulevard, Roxas Boulevard, and the vicinity of the Philippine International Convention Center.
