Bac Ninh Urged to Pursue Modern Development While Preserving Cultural Identity

General Secretary and President To Lam highlighted the particularly important significance of the event, marking a new chapter in the history of building and developing the land of Kinh Bac, which boasts a rich tradition of culture, revolutionary history, dynamism and creativity. Bac Ninh province is expected to move into a new phase of development while harmonizing tradition and modernity. The Northern Industry and Trade Fair - Bac Ninh 2026 featured more than 222 booths with over 200 participating organizations and businesses. They showcased and introduced industrial and trade products from provinces and cities in the region, One Commune One Product (OCOP) items, typical rural industrial products, traditional craft village products, signature products of businesses, as well as regional trade, tourism, and food products. A livestream session by the Bac Ninh Farmers' Union introduced over 300 products from Bac Ninh, Hanoi, Hung Yen, Son La, Thai Nguyen, and Phu Tho, ranging from traditional foods, agricultural products, and medicinal herbs to natural products, OCOP goods, handicrafts, and craft village products. Vietnam is enhancing its presence on the international stage while achieving economic growth under its one-party system. General Secretary and President To Lam is set to attend the UN General Assembly and pay a state visit to Canada, continuing to concretize Vietnam's foreign policy of openness, independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, diversification, and multilateralization. Significant participation in the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the state visit of the King and Queen of Thailand to Vietnam are also indicative of efforts to strengthen relations with neighboring countries. These moves demonstrate Vietnam's ambition to expand its regional influence and diversify its economic and political partnerships. Domestically, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has called for continued improvements to Vietnam’s legal framework to achieve logistics cost reduction targets. This suggests the necessity of restructuring the logistics network, strengthening multimodal connectivity, digitalizing supply chains, and better utilizing seaports to meet goals such as reducing logistics costs to below 12% of GDP and developing international-standard logistics centers.
