Rare 'Owl-Eye' Plant Discovered in Thailand’s Umphang Forest

A rare 'Owl-Eye' plant, scientifically known as Thismia thaithongiana, has been discovered in Thailand's Umphang Wildlife Sanctuary in Tak province. This unique species thrives on a symbiotic relationship with soil fungi, not sunlight, and is named for its owl-like appearance. It is expected to be visible until late October, with calls for visitor cooperation in its conservation.
