Revolutionary forces intercept 28 military vessels heading towards Kanay-Minkyin border

Yangon, July 8 Revolutionary forces have twice intercepted a group of military council warships heading towards the border of Kanay Township and Minkin Township in Sagaing Region, using heavy and small arms, according to the Chin-Dwin Spring Revolution Force (CSRAF) and allied forces. According to an official from the CSRAF, the group of warships, which had been sailing upstream from the Alon-Minkyun jetty in Monywa city, was intercepted around 3 p.m. on July 7, when it reached the border area between Kanay and Minkin townships. The fleet included 4 attack warships and 24 cargo vessels, carrying drone parts, ammunition, food, and a large number of military council troops. Revolutionary forces launched a joint attack using rocket launchers, small arms, and snipers, but the extent of casualties on the military council side has not yet been independently confirmed. "Our firepower and manpower are not yet sufficient, so the effectiveness is not yet satisfactory. However, we attacked fiercely with the weapons and manpower we have. After the battle, the warships took refuge and rested near a Pyu village in the direction of Minkin. As the river water level rises soon, the movement of warships may increase, so we believe that if we can obtain more ammunition and weapons, we will be able to carry out more effective attacks," said an official from CSRAF. The attack was led by the Chin-Dwin Spring Revolution Force (CSRAF) in cooperation with allied revolutionary forces within Kanay Township's Tactical Area 6, and it was reported that People's Defense Force members were able to withdraw safely without casualties. Around 12:45 p.m. on the same day, revolutionary forces also fired three forward rocket launchers at one attack warship and one cargo vessel carrying ammunition from the aforementioned group of warships. During this operation, the military council also fired back with heavy and small arms, and the operation was jointly carried out by the Chindwin Fighter Group (CFG), Brave Heart Army (BHA), and Monywa Dynamite Special Task Force (STF), according to a statement released by the Chindwin Fighter Group (CFG).
