Sihanoukville Police Bust Active Drug Trafficking Ring, Seize Weapon

In a significant move against illicit activities, the Sihanoukville Provincial Police have announced the successful crackdown on a drug trafficking ring. On September 14th and 15th, 2026, specialized forces from the Anti-Drug Crimes Department of the Sihanoukville Provincial Police Command conducted operations in four different villages within the province. The operations led to the arrest of a total of nine suspects, both male and female, for their alleged involvement in the illegal trade of narcotics. The operations were carried out in Village 4 and Village 5 of Sangkat 4, Village 3 of Sangkat 3, and Village 1 of Sangkat 1, in Sihanoukville City-Province. These actions were conducted under the direct guidance and leadership of Lieutenant General So Ratha, Deputy Commissioner General and Provincial Police Commissioner. According to the specialized forces, the arrested individuals are repeat offenders, having been imprisoned twice previously. They are identified as active drug traffickers who have also been involved in the illegal use of firearms. During the crackdown, law enforcement seized a quantity of white powder suspected to be narcotics, WY pills, a weighing scale, bracelets, earrings, cash, mobile phones, motorcycles, a K54 pistol with ammunition, and other packaging materials. The suspects are currently detained at the Sihanoukville Provincial Police Headquarters for questioning and further legal proceedings. The Sihanoukville Provincial Police Command is appealing to all citizens, business owners, and the general public to cooperate with the authorities. They urge anyone who witnesses or has information related to drug trafficking, distribution, use, or any other criminal offenses to report it to the police immediately.
