Since July 8, a military column that arrived from the direction of Nyaung Chaung village and Pwint Lin village has burned down houses in Pwint Lin, Taw Sein, Su Ri Kan, and Gyi So villages. Additionally, Su To, Nyaung Zin, Lay Pen Gone, and Nyaung Chaung villages were also burned down, bringing the total number of burned villages to eight so far. Due to the military's advance and the burning of villages, approximately 20,000 local residents from Pwint Lin, Taw Sein, Won Po, Su Ri Kan, Gyi So, and Myae Podo villages are fleeing to safety. "Eight villages have now been burned down. They entered and burned down Taw Sein village, Su Ri Kan village, Gyi So village, and Pwint Lin village. The wind is also blowing very strongly, so the whole village might be gone. About 20 houses in Taw Sein village were also lost. The military has arrested residents before, and now there are local residents who are missing and cannot be contacted. On July 8, more than 60 houses in those villages were burned down, and all valuables from inside the houses were taken," said a local resident. Furthermore, although it is currently the season for farmers to cultivate their crops, local farmers are forced to flee from the war in the rain and wind due to the military's advance, and they have not yet been able to plant crops in their fields. It is also reported that the peanuts stored by the residents of the burned villages were lost in the fire. "Now, farmers are fleeing from the war in the rain and wind. The rain is also heavy, so we haven't even been able to plant or sow seeds in the fields yet. The peanuts of the residents of the burned villages were also caught in the fire. Peanuts are selling for 200,000 kyats per bag. We cannot return to our village yet, so we urgently need medicine and food," the local resident added.
