Thai National Assembly President to Visit Vietnam

Sophon Zaram, President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand, will pay an official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man. Zaram, a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Bhumjaithai Party, was elected the new speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand in March this year. Under the Thai constitution, the House speaker also serves as the President of the National Assembly. The visit is expected to deepen parliamentary exchanges between the two countries. Vietnam and Thailand are important partners in the Southeast Asian region, maintaining cooperative relationships in various fields including economy, security, and culture. Vietnam, pursuing state-led economic growth under its one-party system, has been increasing its regional influence in recent years. Its relationship with China is complex, yet economic ties are deep, and Vietnam pursues diplomacy that considers geopolitical balance. Parliamentary exchanges with Thailand can be seen as part of Vietnam's efforts to stabilize relations with neighboring countries and strengthen its economic development base amidst the regional geopolitical landscape.
