It is reported that military columns have recaptured Htin Zin new and old villages in Tamu Township along the Kalay-Tamu road. It is reported that military columns are carrying out security operations to regain control and reopen the Kalay-Tamu road, which is a crucial route for border trade between Myanmar and India. In carrying out these operations, military columns were organized and prepared to regain control and reopen the Kalay-Tamu road. They launched phased security operations starting from June 7, dividing into columns. The military column advancing from Tamu city recaptured Yan Lin Phai village and the surrounding areas. The military column advancing from Kalay city successively recaptured and controlled towns and villages along the Kalay-Tamu road. On the evening of July 26, they recaptured Htin Zin new and old villages, where terrorists had temporarily established bases. It is reported that during the attack and recapture, clashes occurred with terrorists, and weapons, ammunition, and related materials were seized from the terrorists. It is reported that the terrorists built bunkers in public buildings and residential houses, which were not military targets, within these villages, establishing defensive positions. They also forcibly seized and used food, supplies, property, and valuables belonging to local residents, destroyed buildings, and committed illegal acts such as arresting, torturing, and killing local residents who did not support their actions. Military columns are continuing to strive to reopen the Kalay-Tamu road as soon as possible and are carrying out security operations. They are also cooperating with relevant authorities to assist in the reconstruction and repair of houses, buildings, and bridges belonging to local residents that were damaged by terrorists.
