Head of State requests religious leaders to continue supporting national peace

The Head of State, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, has requested religious leaders to continue providing support through religious teachings for the refinement of the people's thoughts and spirits, and for national reconciliation and the peace and prosperity of the nation. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the Head of State, received and held discussions with a delegation led by Cardinal Charles Bo, Chairman of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Myanmar, at the Presidential Palace on the morning of August 5th. During the frank discussions on religious freedom, national peace, and social harmony, the Head of State made this request. The Head of State stated that Myanmar allows freedom of worship for various religions without discrimination and has granted land permits for the construction of places of worship for different religions in Nay Pyi Taw, ensuring they are built magnificently and orderly. It is understood that the Head of State said that the nation continues to advance on the path of multi-party democracy, believes that peace can only be achieved through dialogue, and that political demands should be resolved through political means. It is also reported that Cardinal Charles Bo, Chairman of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Myanmar, expressed his joy and pride in having the opportunity to meet with the Head of State. He acknowledged the efforts in carrying out national duties amidst challenges and expressed gratitude for the land permit granted for the construction of a Catholic church in Nay Pyi Taw. He also conveyed his well wishes for the peace and prosperity of the Head of State and all the people of Myanmar.
