Cambodia Aims to Boost Russian Tourists with New Tourism Roadmap

The Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia has launched the "Cambodia Tourism Roadmap for the Russian Market" with the aim of strengthening the attraction of Russian tourists. Minister of Tourism, Hout Hak, instructed tourism operators to actively convey Cambodia's wonders to Russian travelers to encourage visits. Speaking at the roadmap launch event at the Ministry of Tourism on September 18, Minister Hak stated, "It is no longer sufficient to wait for Russian tourists to discover Cambodia on their own. We must actively present Cambodia's wonders to them, so they know Cambodia, want to visit Cambodia, decide to visit Cambodia, and then visit Cambodia in person." The minister added, "The Russian market is one of the key target markets that we must focus on with great attention and transform its potential into a tangible flow of tourists to Cambodia." Anatoly Borovik, the Russian Ambassador to Cambodia, welcomed the achievement of the Cambodia-Russia tourism roadmap and urged for the establishment of direct flights between Cambodia and Russia to facilitate the achievement of these tourism goals for both countries. According to the Ministry of Tourism, this roadmap will serve as an effective platform for promoting Cambodia as an attractive tourist destination, strengthening partnerships between the private sector, and creating new opportunities for business and investment, particularly in tourism cooperation between Cambodia and the Russian Federation.
