Takéo Province Governor Requests Ministry of Public Works to Build Nearly 3km Rubber Road in Samrong District to Facilitate Citizen Travel

In Cambodia's southern Takéo Province, the provincial governor, Vey Samnang, has submitted a request to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport for the construction of a rubber-paved road, specifically of the BDST type, spanning approximately 3,000 meters. This road would be situated within the geographical areas of Lumchong Commune and Tra Commune in Samrong District. This was confirmed by Mr. Nop Ny, Director of the Provincial Department of Public Works and Transport, on the morning of September 24, 2026. Mr. Ny further stated that the provincial governor's request to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport is focused on examining the feasibility of constructing this BDST-type rubber-paved road. The primary objective behind this request is to facilitate easier travel and transportation for the residents in the area. The proposal aims to promote the improvement of road infrastructure at the local level, enhance convenience for travel and the transportation of agricultural products, and ultimately ease the movement of citizens residing in the Lumchong and Tra communes of Samrong District. If this project is implemented, it will upgrade the existing road to a BDST-type rubber-paved road, offering greater convenience and safety for both residents and travelers passing through the region. Concurrently, the construction of this nearly 3-kilometer rubber-paved road is expected to contribute to strengthening local road connectivity and facilitating the transportation of agricultural products to markets, thereby improving daily communication and living conditions for the populace.
