Suu Kyi Transferred to House Arrest; US, Japan, UN Demand Immediate Release Amidst Myanmar Tensions

Myanmar's democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi was transferred from prison to house arrest by the military junta on April 30. In response, the United States, Japan, and UN Secretary-General António Guterres have vehemently demanded the immediate and unconditional release of Suu Kyi and all other unjustly detained individuals. The international community expressed concern for her health and called for an end to violence and a resolution through dialogue.
