Can Tho City Conducts Major Personnel Reshuffle, Appoints Key Officials

Can Tho City, located in Vietnam's Mekong Delta region, held a conference on August 7 to announce personnel decisions concerning key officials. Based on decisions from the City Party Committee's Standing Committee, the reshuffle involves the transfer, reassignment, and appointment of over 60 key cadres, many of whom are members of the City Party Committee. This represents the largest personnel adjustment in Can Tho City's history. Significant changes include the transfer of Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Deputy Chairman of the City People's Committee, to become Secretary of the Ninh Kieu District Party Committee. Mr. Nguyen Du, Head of the City Party Committee's Office, has been appointed Secretary of the Tan An Ward Party Committee. Additionally, Mr. Ha Vu Son, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, has been reassigned as Head of the City Party Committee's Office, while Mr. Le Thanh Tam, Director of the Department of Finance, has been appointed Chairman of the Management Board of Can Tho Industrial and Export Processing Zones. The reshuffle also includes numerous transfers between departments, districts, and wards, as well as reciprocal movements. Furthermore, the City Party Committee announced the establishment of the Can Tho City Development Research Committee, chaired by City Party Secretary Do Thanh Binh (a member of the Central Committee), along with its subordinate research departments. Speaking at the conference, City Party Secretary Do Thanh Binh emphasized that this personnel reshuffle is in line with central regulations and guidelines, and meets the city's development requirements for the new phase. He urged the appointed officials to strictly adhere to regulations, continuously improve their capabilities through self-study, and demonstrate courage in thinking and acting for the common good, thereby enabling Can Tho City to fulfill its role and meet the expectations of its citizens.
