97 Myanmar nationals released after serving sentences in Thailand sent back to Myawaddy

It has been learned that 97 Myanmar nationals who were released after serving sentences in Thailand have been sent back to Myawaddy city. Myanmar nationals who are migrant workers arrived in Myawaddy city, Myanmar, from Ranong city, Thailand, on September 10. Officials welcomed them, conducted necessary checks, and are arranging for them to return to their respective hometowns. Among the Myanmar nationals were 80 men and 17 women, who had served sentences in 14 provinces in southern Thailand. They were temporarily detained at the immigration detention center in Ranong city, Thailand, and were sent back by waterway under the leadership of the Myanmar labor attaché. It is understood that the Myanmar nationals underwent health checks, blacklist verification, and checks for the presence of human trafficking, victims of human trafficking, and foreign nationals, and arrangements were made for them to return to their residential areas.
