BoT to Introduce Baht-Pegged Stablecoin, Public Hearings Slated

The Bank of Thailand is advancing plans to introduce a baht-pegged stablecoin to support digital finance and innovation. Public hearings are scheduled for later this year with strict requirements. The central bank also reiterated that personal QR code payments in Thailand must be conducted exclusively in baht.
