Hanoi Allocates Over 1.5 Million Sqm for Multi-Purpose Urban Development in Thu Lam Commune

Hanoi City has decided to allocate over 1.5 million square meters of land in Thu Lam Commune to Song Hong Tuong Lai Group for a multi-purpose urban development project. This project will include housing, resettlement areas, and public facilities. This land allocation is the first for the implementation of Phase 1 of the multi-purpose urban development project in Thu Lam Commune, which is part of Project Component 1. The entire area of land to be handed over has completed land acquisition and clearance. In Vietnam's one-party system, urban development projects are advanced according to government plans. Especially in metropolitan areas like Hanoi, addressing population growth and economic development through housing supply and infrastructure development is an urgent issue, making such large-scale developments a government priority. The allocation of land to private enterprises like Song Hong Tuong Lai Group is seen as part of the government's strategy to accelerate development. As Vietnam continues its economic growth, urbanization is prominent, leading to housing shortages and strained infrastructure as social challenges. This development project is expected to contribute to solving these issues. Furthermore, amidst complex relations with China, Vietnam prioritizes domestic economic stability and self-reliance, making such large-scale domestic development crucial for strengthening its economic base.
