Lawyer Appeals for Support After 'Maleta Boys' Bail Bid Fails
Lawyer Levito Baligod is appealing for public support after a court failed to process the bail for 14 of the 18 alleged former bagmen of ex-lawmaker Zaldy Co, dubbed the 'maleta boys.'
MANILA, Philippines — Lawyer Levito Baligod on Friday appealed for public support after a court failed to process the bail of 14 individuals he identified as among the 18 alleged former bagmen of ex-lawmaker Zaldy Co, or the so-called “maleta boys.” In a Facebook post, Baligod said the Las Piñas court had not processed the bail of the group he called the “Brave 14.” He stated that the group acted “to reveal the truth and for the future of the nation,” and that the denial of their bail bid was “justice delayed is justice denied.”
