Vietnam Launches Free Cancer Screenings for Vulnerable Women and Ethnic Minorities

The Vietnam Women's Union, in coordination with NAPAS, Mastercard, and Payoo, has officially launched the annual social welfare program "Touch to Share, Gift of Hope." This program will provide 2,010 free cancer screenings to vulnerable women and ethnic minority women in border areas and disadvantaged regions. This initiative is part of efforts to promote gender equality and empower women in Vietnam, specifically aiming to support women in economically and socially disadvantaged positions in expanding their access to digital economy and social participation opportunities. Early detection and screening for cancers, particularly breast and ovarian cancer, are crucial for improving treatment effectiveness and reducing healthcare costs. Professor Mary-Claire King, a renowned geneticist, has expressed her support for breast and ovarian cancer screening in Vietnam.
