Alas was accompanied by his around 10 lawyers when he arrived at the NBI Homicide Division at 10 a.m. to submit his affidavit. The NBI Homicide Division said Alas is also scheduled to submit a supplemental statement to the bureau. Meanwhile, Fernandez, along with his counsel Atty. Peter Castillo, also submitted his affidavit to shed light on the incident. In an ambush interview with reporters, Fernandez said he was not at the resort in Dipacualo, Aurora, where the incident occurred, and was only subpoenaed since the NBI “wanted to cover every base.” Physical therapist Jerick Rueca, together with his lawyer and a paralegal, also submitted an affidavit to the bureau. Meanwhile, Ateneo assistant coach Buboy Domingo and strength and conditioning coach CJ Elumba were represented only by their respective legal counsels when submitting their affidavits. Also expected to appear this Monday is strength and conditioning coach Grant Dearns, but the Homicide Division said he was not able to arrive because he is currently in New Zealand. NBI Director Melvin Matibag earlier said that the bureau intended to finish its investigation last Friday, but it did not push through as they still needed to get testimonies from the other personalities.
