Cambodia's Ministry of Health and GX Foundation Sign New Cooperation Agreement to Expand Healthcare Support Nationwide
Cambodia's Ministry of Health has signed a cooperation agreement with the GX Foundation to expand humanitarian aid projects, including eye surgeries and dengue fever prevention, into new regions. The Ministry of Health of Cambodia and the GX Foundation have signed a new cooperation agreement to expand the scope of their humanitarian work into new areas. The agreement was signed on the afternoon of Friday, July 3, 2026, at the Ministry of Health headquarters, in the presence of His Excellency Professor Chheang Ra, Minister of Health, and His Excellency LEUNG Chun Ying, Chairman of the GX Foundation and Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. During the meeting, His Excellency the Minister of Health expressed his profound gratitude for the significant achievements of the GX Foundation, including the successful "SeeRight" eye program in Prey Veng and Kampong Speu provinces, which safely performed 6,673 cataract surgeries for residents. The foundation also implemented a dengue fever prevention project, providing 13,800 sets of Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs), mosquito-killing lamps, insecticide-treated mosquito nets, and educational materials to all 64 health centers in Kampong Speu province. Furthermore, prevention equipment was deployed at strategic national infrastructure sites, including the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway, the Funan Techo Canal construction site, and Techo International Airport. Through this new agreement, the Ministry of Health and the GX Foundation pledge to jointly expand the scope of this humanitarian project to new target provinces (Kampot or Kampong Thom), focusing on responding to dengue fever, training medical personnel in technical skills, and providing new medical innovations.
